looks american to me.
sort of like a chrysler..

1stClassDesigns said: Neither Ferrari nor Chrysler, nor any of their derivatives. You are a little closer to correct Katana.

1stClassDesigns said: Nope. Not a Stude'.
But you are in the right direction as far as continent of manufacturer and of actual build as well as timeframe.

Okay, based on the hints, let me see if I've got all this right. The actual builder is from the American continent, is still around today and had this built somewhere between 1946 and 1952. Except it was actually manufactured in France and it does not have Ghia or Pininfarina coachwork. Whew!!! Is all this correct?

Yella31

Yella31 says:

Is it a 1954 Ford Comete Monte Carlo?

Built by French Ford - started production in 1952 & ended 1955
Powered by a 2225cc V8 that put out 60hp then upgraded to a 3.9l V8 for the last model before discontinuing because of poor sales in 1955

If this is correct let someone else pick the next car as I am going away this weekend (long weekend in Western Australia), plus I've already had a few goes.

This car certainly stumped everyone for a while

Yella is correct 1954 FORD Comete. Who wants to take a go at it?

I had a feeling it may be a toughie, I had no idea it existed until I Googled "1950s European Ford", and it was just so odd a car, had to post it.

Well, I was just about to post this and see if it was your car 1stClass but since it was not how about this one, as the new one, since Yella 31 said "someone else have a go"? It looked pretty close. LOL

No "might" about it Katana's got it! Right on the money Facel Vega it is! (1954 to be exact, same year as the Ford) On to you Katana! Bye the way does anyone else out there tend to read Katana's posts to themselves in Stewie's accent? LOL

Looks like a Bricklin. That is, if I spelled it right? Or is it Briklin? Either way that's the first thing that poped into my head. It also looks remarkably like a Hotwheel car I had as a kid of a Mercedes C111/Isdera Imperator 108i. I think it looks more like the Mercedes though.

My guess would have been the C111, as it appears to be in a German exhibit of some sort.

No, not a Disney car LOL! This car is a real production car from a manufacturer who made cars for over 10 years.
