But you are in the right direction as far as continent of manufacturer and of actual build as well as timeframe.

Okay, based on the hints, let me see if I've got all this right. The actual builder is from the American continent, is still around today and had this built somewhere between 1946 and 1952. Except it was actually manufactured in France and it does not have Ghia or Pininfarina coachwork. Whew!!! Is all this correct?
