"Also one heckuva loud rock band from Texas." - Hell yeah, were the cowboys from hell

About the car - I had never seen one in Australia until I went to the Perth Performance Motorshow (see pictures by clicking on 'motorshow' tagged).
I originally though it was a kit car until I looked up more information on the web.

Cool car - Exotic looks with beefy American V8 soundtrack

1969 Holden Hurricane.

Don't know much about it myself. My guess it was a concept car for GM's Australian Holden marque . Maybe someone can explain better...

Katana says:

correct first class.

the hurricane was an experimental prototype powered by a high compression version of the the 4.2 V8 that would be used in holdens up to the mid 80's, it was also the first Aussie built car to have and Aussie designed and built V8

ok, as I know absolutely nothing whatsoever about old American cars I shall just say the first thing the looks vaguely similar and came into my head.

Chevy Impala ?

and late '50s early '60s ?

Any of that close ?

With the round tail lights & the shape of the side windows I am guessing it is some sort of Ford from around 1964/65.
The Ford Failane 'compact' had very simular lines & tail section (but was a four door)

Australia had a Ford Coupe that looked simular to this - Ford Falcon XP coupe.
I dont think its one of those firstly because the section below the boot (between the tail lights) was part of the body & wasnt removable, secondly the rear bumper is different shape & thirdly the picture was posted by an American

Yella, you are oh so close on almost every detail. Just a little nudge in age and size and you'd be on the right track

Well the clues should help someone out - I'll be away from the computer this weekend (working on my Hilux) so I will leave it to someone who can post another car.

It will be interesting to find out what it is, I like the Ford coupes from that era.
My friend has an Australian Ford XP coupe (unfinished project)but I don't know what the American equivelant is

looks very much like a 1960-1964 Ford Galaxie to me.. but the lip that runs the length of the car makes me think it isn't a Galaxie...

Could it be a trashed T-bird or Galaxie? They both had the round tail lights in the early sixties.

KATANA has it correct... a 1963 Ford Galaxie. Being an old, rusted out, and stripped down ex-race car made it a bit more difficult.

Yella31 says:

I couldn't tell you what year the ARO is - there isn't much info on the net that I could find.
All I could find out about it that is was Romanian built & a few people tried to get it imported into the US.
When they finally imported it (as a Crosslander 244x) the sales flopped & it was discontinued - one of the coments made about the vehicle is 'You would not like to drive it every day'

I think its the Lamborghini LM002, Specifically I believe this is the one that belonged to the son of Saddam Hussein that was used as target practice by the American army after they had seized it, not realizing what it was.

If I am right I will post something tomorrow as it is 2 in the morning here and I need to sleep.
