Katana

Katana says:

ahh, i've been touring the flinders ranges the past 10 days, so i've been away from a PC.

but from the look of that I'd have to say its a kit car, judging by the wedge shape with the squared off sides, and the high-ish ride hight. built on a corvette chassis maybe?

Is it a Stirling kit car?

I don't have much info on it, I couldn't find many pictures of this particular car.

Hey! Nice to see we have some people back and participating. I was beginning to wonder if everyone got bored and went away glad to see y'all back. And Cudos to Yella! He got it! It's a Sterling kit car. Although, for a kit, I'd say it was one of the cleaner looks. On to you, Yella!

Sorry it's late but definitely a kit car though usually built on a VW Bug chassis.

P.S. I admit I had to Google the Flinders Ranges but Man I saw some awesome pics, very majestic looking country! I bet that was a Hell of a trip! Hope you enjoyed it!

Looks like Katana & I were in South Australia around the same time though I wasn't in the Flinder ranges. I drove past them on my drive back to Perth.

Anyway back to the game - this one should be relatively easy for some of you but has an interesting development history

Well it's an American manufacturer that still makes cars today (only just after the GFC)

It's from the 70's. & it's mid engined.

I found this car while looking for the last one Camarrow84 posted

well.......im guessing GM? but i cant find any that look the same, it has hints of the XP-882 1970's concept, but its not the same, i would say definatly a vette, but i just cant find it!!!!

P4cey

P4cey says:

ok, im gonna go for the 1973 reynolds bodied XP-895?

Yella31

Yella31 says:

P4cey is correct.

Corvette toyed with the Idea of a mid engined car, this was the last of these concept cars. It had an Aluminium body & earlier versions had a Wankel motor (rotary).

That has a very familiar look to it. A Facel Vega, a shop I worked at did a frame off restoration on one. But it was 20+ years ago...
